Since the 7th of October, our lives have been at a standstill. The daily grind of work and routine has been replaced by the harsh reality of displacement and uncertainty. We are left with nothing to return to in Gaza, no semblance of the life we once knew.

Our journey was fraught with danger and despair. We amassed over $20,000 in debt just to cross the borders, leaving behind everything we owned, including our beloved home and thriving business. With no cash reserves and all our assets tied up in the shop, we found ourselves in a dire situation.

Unable to work or obtain a residence permit, we are reliant on the goodwill of others to survive. We’ve had to sell precious family heirlooms, like my mother’s gold, just to put food on the table and keep a roof over our heads. Despite our best efforts, the burden of debt continues to weigh heavily upon us, threatening to plunge us further into despair.

This is not the future we envisioned for ourselves – living in limbo, perpetually indebted, and denied the opportunity to rebuild our shattered lives. We are reaching out to you, our global community, in a plea for help and support. Your generosity will provide us with the means to alleviate our financial burdens, access essential resources, and lay the groundwork for a brighter future.

My parents are elderly and require multiple medications, while my mother battles two chronic diseases. Unfortunately, we can’t return to our beloved city of Gaza due to current circumstances. However, we’re determined to rebuild our lives here in Egypt.
