Hello, I am Mustafa El Shawwa and I am 23 years old and from Gaza City. The members of my family include my mother Raghda, my father Essam, and the rest of my family are Roaa, Rola, Muheeb, Islam, Malik, Dana, and Yamen.

As you know, the costs of travelling to Egypt are expensive, and we have lost our jobs in this terrible war. The funds raised will be spent on evacuating all of them safely. 68,000 CAD will be used to pay for the special permits at the Egyptian border which cost 6,800 CAD ($5,000 USD) per individual, which is 10 people. The rest will be used as expenses once we evacuate.

Currently, I am writing from the heart of Gaza, hoping that my message reaches you to share with you my experience, along with my family, in this harsh war after enduring more than eight months of pain. I write to you with a heart heavy with pain and sadness to share some of my suffering and my family's suffering in the midst of the harsh war that is engulfing Gaza.

Since the beginning of the war and the bombings, we have felt constant fear and worry, but things worsened after our house was ruthlessly bombed by warplanes, forcing us to flee immediately. The moments following the bombing were filled with panic and terror, as we didn't know what to do or where to go. We found ourselves in an unbearable situation, where words fail to describe the extent of the destruction and loss that the war has left in our lives.

We have lost not only our home, but also our sense of security and stability. Our dreams have turned to ashes, leaving behind everything we once owned. We found ourselves homeless, each of us with only a small bag containing some important papers and memories. We have no safe shelter to seek refuge in, and the empty streets are now our only home.

In Gaza, life has become a path filled with pain, where every day seems like a canvas of despair and frustration. The war ravages our souls and destroys our dreams, but resilience is all that remains.

My family and I suffer terribly from food and medicine shortages due to skyrocketing prices and dwindling resources. Food seems like a distant dream on the horizon, unreachable. Medicines, once our only hope, are now a dream to alleviate some of our pains.

As if that wasn't enough, water and electricity cuts worsen our suffering. Long nights loom over us with their dark shadows. Thus, we live in a dark world full of sadness and pain, striving to stay alive, carrying shattered dreams and broken hearts, eagerly awaiting the light of hope to come into our dark lives, searching for hope in the remnants of destruction, and holding onto each other as a strong family.

I feel a deep responsibility to secure the safety and future of my family. Your contribution to us in any form of support would be invaluable. The funds will be spent entirely on evacuating us to Egypt, where we plan to start a new life away from the deathly danger surrounding us every moment here in Gaza.
