Hi everyone,

My name is Ephraim Stephen Sam. I’m 19 years old, from Queensland, and I represent Australia in badminton. I’m reaching out to ask for your support as I aim to participate in more international BWF tournaments and achieve medals for Australia on the global stage.

My badminton journey began 10 years ago when I was just 9 years old. Over the years, I’ve dedicated countless hours to training and competing in countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and India, all while balancing my school commitments. I've recently taken a gap year after completing Year 12 to focus fully on my badminton goals.

Despite my efforts, pursuing a professional career in badminton involves significant financial challenges. All costs related to international competitions—including flights, accommodation, food, and training facilities—are covered out of pocket.

I recently competed in the Australian Open National Championship 2024, where I was the runner-up in the Men’s Singles category and was automatically selected to the Australian Senior National Team. This achievement has been a great motivator as I focus solely on badminton this year. To build on this momentum, I aim to compete in more international tournaments, gain valuable experience, and strive for medals for Australia.
