Hi, everyone.

My name is Mariel and I am reaching out today to ask for help in a challenging time. Recently, a fire broke out in our home, thankfully we were able to get out. However our beloved cat, Lucy, suffered serious smoke inhalation and is now in the emergency vet hospital fighting to recover. She has been incredibly brave, and we're doing everything we can to support her recovery.

The medical expenses for emergency care are mounting quickly, and we're seeking support to help cover these vital treatments. Admitting her to the hospital alone already costs $765 CAD. Lucy is receiving oxygen therapy ($1200/day), fluids, and round the clock monitoring to ensure she can heal and eventually return home to us. She’s also been given medication to help ease her breathing and remove the fluid in her lungs due to inflammation. The vet gave as an estimate of $9000CAD, on top of the admission fee, if Lucy were to stay in the hospital for 3days. Which is recommended as she needs more time in the oxygen to fully recover.
