Support My Eye Surgery and Recovery
Donation protected
Dear family (extended/chosen) & friends (familiar/those I have yet to encounter),
I’ve recently met some challenges that have impacted me, and I’m hoping that you can help.
My retina in my right eye partially detached during the holidays and on 12/30/24, I had surgery to reattach it. The surgery, follow-up visits, and eye drops have all been out-of-pocket expenses as my benefits had not started.
On 1/18/25, while walking to my car, I slipped on some ice. I hit my head on my car door, causing the recovering retina to completely detach!
It had snowed on 2/13/25, and I had warmed up and scraped the ice off the windows of my car parked right outside my ground-floor apartment. While I grabbed my coffee and work bag inside, someone stole my car! The car was found without the key and therefore will not start.
As a precaution, I have an appointment on March 11th to take measurements of my eye in case the natural lens stops working during my upcoming surgery.
This surgery, scheduled for March 26th, is much more complicated, costly, and will require me to take substantial time off from work.
Your donation will help:
- Pay off the balance of the 12/30 surgery
- Offset impound fees and get the car running
- Pay for the March 26th surgery cost
- Allow me to take the time needed to recover
