Hi, my name is Tanya, and I’ve always been a fiercely independent and active woman. From exploring nature to taking on life’s challenges head-on, I’ve prided myself on living life to its fullest. Unfortunately, recent health challenges have drastically changed my life and now threaten my mobility, independence, and ability to do what I love. I’m reaching out to you for help as I face the most significant hurdle of my life: regaining my health and preserving my quality of life through life-changing surgery.
For years, I have battled through life’s challenges with resilience and determination, but now I find myself facing an overwhelming obstacle. On November 29, 2024, I began experiencing strange symptoms, which led to a devastating diagnosis: Grade 3 spondylolisthesis of my L5 vertebrae. My condition means that my spinal column is dangerously misaligned, putting me at a high risk of paralysis from even minor missteps or falls.
The pain and physical limitations have become debilitating at times. Simple activities like walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods are excruciating. I’ve had to reduce my work hours to a maximum of 20 hours per week, leaving us struggling financially while trying to manage mounting medical bills.
Despite seeking help through public healthcare, the waiting times for diagnostic scans, referrals, and possible surgical intervention are unbearably long—potentially years. Time is not on my side. After extensive research and consultations, I have identified two viable options for the care I urgently need:
Canadian Spine Institute (Quebec): A private facility known for offering advanced surgical options and post-operative care.
Spine Surgery Mexico: A highly regarded international option with experienced specialists, offering expedited care at a lower cost compared to other private facilities.
The cost of surgery and aftercare from either facility is significant. For the Canadian Spine Institute, it is estimated to be around $30,000, while the option in Mexico, though more affordable, will still require significant funds for travel, accommodation, and the procedure itself.
I’m humbly reaching out to you, my community, for support. Every contribution, big or small, will bring me closer to regaining my mobility, independence, and the life I cherish. Your generosity will help cover:
The cost of surgery at either facility
Post-surgical rehabilitation and care
Travel and accommodation expenses
This journey has been emotionally, physically, and financially exhausting. Still, I remain hopeful and determined to overcome this challenge. With your support, I can get the life-changing care I need and continue to live a life of purpose, strength, and gratitude.
Your help means the world to me. Please consider donating and sharing my story with others. Together, we can overcome this challenge and give me a fighting chance at a brighter, healthier future.
