Support my Journey and Lifelong Dream!!!

Hi my name is Joseph Navarro and I come from a small and humble town up in the mountains in Puerto Rico. Since my early tens I started a special passion to become a cheerleader and be one of the best in the world. However, my resources were very limited and the sport in my country was not as popular as it is now. My mom always tried her best to support me, but it was hard for her as well. I remember begging her to drive around the neighborhood to pick up old mattresses, so I can practice my tumbles in a less dangerous environment. Even though she didn’t want to do it, she will do it for me. Since I couldn’t pay for private lessons and I had no experience to be part of a club; I started watching videos to teach myself. I will practice what I learned in my used mattresses and my cousin was my camera men…yes, a seven-year-old kid. After many falls and accidents, I was able to make it to my first team, just a year after I started with my long journey into the magical world of cheerleading. People saw my true potential and were impressed of my skills and abilities, especially since I never got formal training. The years passed by and I continued my hardworking participating into competitions, training with real professionals and as part of prestigious clubs such as Fire All-Starts-the most important and top club in Puerto Rico-Sting Rays and Top Gun-Orlando. Although I was feeling proud of myself and the long way that I had go, my dream has always been to be part of the Top Gun Jaguars in Miami, Florida. This is the dream of any cheerleader since their “competitive team-program is one of the most well-known & decorated in the WORLD” and home of the 19 times World Champions (Top Gun Website). Year after year, since I moved to Florida after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, I have been thinking to try out with them, but their acceptance process is very strict and selected, and I thought that I was not at their level of expectations. To my surprised, this year I had the courage to do my try outs, and on May 25th I got the acceptance email to their “Double O Team”; their most prestigious and famous team. My whole world turned around; my childhood dream came true…my years of hard work started to pay off. Now, that I am having the opportunity that I have always worked for, I will have to relocate to Miami, which I was not anticipating and did not plan financially for it. This is the main reason why I am doing this GoFundMe. I am a humble, honest and hard-working person, but since my beginning having the resources to reach my goals has always been an obstacle. Making it to this club is very difficult and I should not let this opportunity go. Please help me raising the money for it by donating or sharing the link with others.
