Support My Mom's Independence and Dignity
Donation protected
Greetings, friends and family,
Every year, I have the privilege of bringing a little extra holiday cheer to families in need, and this year, the recipient I’m hoping to support is one very close to my heart.
My sweet mom underwent a below-the-knee leg amputation in October after two failed ankle fusions. Despite her incredible positivity and determination to regain mobility, she’s facing some significant challenges with even the simplest daily tasks.
One of the most pressing issues is her inability to bathe safely. Right now, she’s forced to hunch over the kitchen sink to wash her hair and take sponge baths in bed. We’ve tried a tub bench, but the water spills onto the floor, creating a serious fall hazard. Her step-in shower has a 4-inch lip, and with one leg, she can’t safely maneuver over it.
I’m reaching out for help to raise funds for a wheelchair-accessible tub or an automatic chair lift that can safely lower her into the bath. These items are unfortunately very costly, and my family and I cannot afford them on our own. We want to provide her with the dignity and independence she so deeply deserves this holiday season.
If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, we would be eternally grateful. As a token of thanks, any donation over $50 will come with a classic Christmas Story tree ornament—a little reminder of the big difference you’ve made for a very special one-legged woman this holiday season.
*My Venmo link will be posted in comments if that’s a preferred option*
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for considering helping my mom. Your kindness means the world to us.
From my family to yours, Happy Holidays!
