Dear friends,
Last week, I made a dream turn reality in achieving my goal of qualifying for the US Olympic Trials. For those who know me, I've been working hard the past year to reach this goal. For those who don't know me, perhaps you've seen photos of me by Justin Britton (@JustinBritton), Aisha McAdams (@Ai.shoots), and Johnny Zhang (@jzsnapz) racing to achieve this goal.
After getting a last chance to race in NYC at Icahn Stadium, I crushed my personal best, ran 8 seconds under the 3K Steeplechase Olympic Trials Qualifying mark, and punched a ticket for the US Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon. This all happened just 7 days before the steeple preliminary race on Sunday, June 20th.
The reality of punching that ticket at the absolute last minute is that flights are not cheap. As an unsponsored elite athlete, I'm asking for support from my friends and running community to cover travel expenses.
