Support Nadine as she heals from Brain Cancer

We always knew Nadine’s brain was extraordinary.

She could read a textbook one time and immediately retain and recite every last detail. To say pharmacy school was a breeze for her was an understatement. She even remembered details about my life that I had forgotten.

Unfortunately, on June 9, 2022 we learned more about Nadine’s brain after she experienced a seizure which prompted her to go to the ER. A number of tests and scans revealed a large tumor in Nadine‘s brain. After finding the right neurosurgery team, Nadine underwent brain surgery to resect the tumor. It was found that she had a grade 4 astrocytoma tumor, a serious form of brain cancer. She immediately started radiation treatment and chemo to prevent recurrence and to shrink the resection cavity. As one would expect our brilliant Nadine to do, she began researching alternative options to help her in her healing journey. Not only did she find alternative treatments, but she found a community of people and a mind-and-body health coach who had gone through a similar situation and had triumphed and thrived through it all. Fortunately, the combination of treatments she is using have been showing promising results, but need to be continued for the rest of her life.

While the more traditional route has been partially covered by insurance, this alternative route has not. She has paid thousands out of pocket, exhausting her savings, all while also not being able to work since June of last year. As you can imagine, this has not only been hard on her, but extremely taxing on her family, husband and two young daughters, age 6 and 2, who are trying to hold it together as their mom fights for her health. The financial and emotional burden has been extremely heavy.

I am asking our community of friends and family to pitch in, as much as possible, to help make Nadine’s journey a little easier, on her and her family, as she manages this situation and continues on her path of healing!
