Support Nanette & Jack's Storm Damage Recovery

We are among those affected by Helene in Asheville. The devastation for this area is overwhelmingly heartbreaking.

You never think this will happen to you. Not really! Though we are located up on a hill, we still had damage from winds knocking down huge trees. Approximately 10 trees fell, and 3 hit our house, and one is through our roof. We know recovery for ourselves and the area will be a long haul, waiting for aid and insurance.

I was just getting going with my business and now I can't operate from home without power. I will start to work (hopefully in a few days) downtown once power is restored at a coworking space I joined just before this all happened, ironically. So I have that set as soon as they are open. We are all waiting on power, cellular, and access to the internet somewhere, once the roads are more safely cleared. We had to drive through downed power lines, downed trees, mud, and flooding everywhere just to be able to get a cell signal to communicate with family and friends so they would know we are okay. Yesterday we were made to turn back because it was too bad.

We have some food and now have batteries and water, so we are counting our blessings and praying for no more wind or rain while our house is tarped over the tree that is still on the roof. THANK YOU Danny and Julie! Thank you neighbors for collectively clearing the tree off of our road!
