All donations will go directly to Luigi and Wanda Rivera for Natalie’s treatment and care.

On Friday, February 2, 2024 Natalie was sent to Methodist Hospital, emergency room by her primary doctor. On Saturday, February 3 she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Sunday February 4th she traveled back home and was admitted to Texas, Children’s Hospital, where they confirm the diagnosis. Tomorrow February 7th she starts chemotherapy.

Natalie is 19 years old, currently enroll in a dual college program. A junior majoring in microbiology and immunology at University of Texas San Antonio, bachelor of science and her masters, at UT Health San Antonio.

Recently, she was awarded an internship at the CDC she is praying that chemotherapy gets her into remission in order to attend this summer.

Although she is very fortunate to have health insurance, an AML diagnosis is a very costly disease with regular medical bills during all phases of treatment. She will stay in the hospital for the next 30 days while she undergoes chemotherapy.
