Nate was my brother-in-law, but he was also my brother. I originally started this fundraising campaign to help pay for his long road to recovery from Covid. We thought when he came home in April, after being in the hospital for 222 days, that he had beaten the odds. However, on September 24th, he was taken by ambulance back to the hospital, where he went into respiratory distress immediately upon arrival. Covid destroyed his lungs and heart. Amy was told he would need a double lung and heart transplant, but shortly after that, his vitals dropped, and the family was told to prepare for the worst. Family flew out as quickly as possible, and friends gathered quickly at the hospital. Goodbyes were said. Painful, unexpected goodbyes. On October 5th, Nate took his final breath and entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The days after were surreal, and it was discovered that his life insurance policy had lapsed in April, the same month he returned home. The news was tragic, and now Amy is left to make sense of yet another tragedy. I want to continue this fundraiser to provide Amy and the girls with a sense of stability while they transition to this new life. I want to ensure that Nate's girls can remain in the house he built. His heart was as big as they get, and his love for his family was immeasurable. Please help us ensure that Amy, Alexis and Haley get to wake up in the middle of that love...every day.
