Hi, my brother Nathan (Nate) was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. He went to the hospital due to severe headaches, and a few scans later, he was told he had a tumor the size of a kiwi on his brain. Nate has undergone a surgery to remove part of the tumor and is now waiting to begin radiation and chemotherapy treatments. He and his wife, Amanda, will be traveling daily for his treatments and other appointments throughout this summer and most likely fall. At home, they have three boys, Evan-14, Tyler 12, and little Alex-2. The boys are doing their best to stay busy and help around the house with Nate being unable to do most things.
Nate is one of the nicest and most generous people you could ever meet. I am fortunate to not only have him as my big brother but also as my best friend. Even with everything going on, he has an upbeat demeanor and is putting smiles on all our faces.
I wanted to create this page for him and his family because there are so many unknown costs involved in these situations and if there are alternative procedures or trials out there, we want to give Nate his best shot at beating this. At first, he didn’t want to do this page because he knows there are other people out there that need help. He finally agreed, with the caveat that “when I beat this, I am giving any remaining contributions to another family.”
Nate has always been a positive thinker and even with this terrible news, he continues to remain optimistic and thinking of others. Our family is asking that anyone who would want to contribute and can, please do. Any little bit will help go towards bills and other expenses.
For all of those who can contribute, I am sure Nate will say, “Hey thanks!.”
