Support Nathalie's Fight of Organ Transplantation
Donation protected
UPDATE: On February 17th, Nathalie underwent surgery to receive a new liver. The surgery went well; she's still asleep (as of 2:30pm 2/18) and will be asleep for most of the day. Doctors mentioned she could be asleep for up to 24 hours. We're extremely grateful to the donor, to Loyola Hospital and to the wonderful surgeons, doctors and nurses that have been helping and supporting Nathalie these past 11 days.
Those of you who know Nathalie, know this: She was born to be a wife and a mother. She & Zack have made the most beautiful family and are raising three amazing kids. You also know Nathalie would do anything and everything she could to help someone she cares about. She’s thoughtful, she’s selfless, she’s hilarious, she’s beautiful, she’s creative, she’s the best wife, mother, daughter, friend and sister anyone could ask for. And she needs our help.
On Friday, February 7th, our lives turned upside down when Nathalie was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed in organ failure. She needs a liver transplant, and she needs it soon. Nathalie faced the worst combination of liver damage exacerbated by Influenza A, a UTI, pneumonia, infections and sepsis. She’s fought an uphill battle for the past week and will have larger and longer battles to come. But if we know anything, it’s that she’s up for the fight, and she’ll push her body to do whatever it takes to get back home to her family.
We want to thank everyone who's been reaching out, keeping Nathalie in their thoughts and prayers, and asking what they can do to help. We’d like to ease the financial burden this will bring on the Phillips family. To support Nathalie in the transplant surgery and recovery, and to support Zack being by her side every step of the way, and to support Islah, Charlotte and Steven as they all rally together as the perfect Phillips, Party of 5 (as they’re known), please consider donating what you can. All contributions will go towards covering medical bills, household expenses while they’re out of work, and vital medications that Nathalie will be on for the rest of her life.
We have faith and we pray that Nathalie will get a healthy, new liver as soon as possible. We have faith and we pray that her body accepts the new liver and that she can recover quickly and get home to her babies who miss her like crazy.
Thank you to everyone who loves on our girl as much as we do. Thank you for being a part of our journey and helping us navigate this extremely difficult time.
