Support Needed: Handyman's Truck Stolen
Donation protected
My work truck was stolen from me one month ago. There has been no word from the police. I have combed the city myself looking for it. No luck. I can only guess that it has been parted out to scrap yards or sent to another country. I carried only liability insurance, as the truck was over 20 years old and was fully paid for. My total investment in the truck was $21,000. This amount wasn't for fancy upgrades or accessories; it was for standard maintenance, new transmission, solid and reliable parts, new batteries, new tires. This theft comes at a transitional time in my life, as I search for a new place to live. Additionally, it comes at a time in which I am again taking on freelance handyman jobs as I search, with a new resume in hand, for a more permanent career opportunity in Property Maintenance/Management.
I am very fortunate to have incredible friends in my life that have offered up temporary support solutions for lodging, employment, and transportation.
I'm in a real bind here. I have managed to keep a small savings through all of this, but nowhere near enough to get myself into another used vehicle. Many of my freelance employment opportunities are out of town. While it goes against my sense of pride to ask for donations, many of my peers have encouraged me to give this platform a shot. If you can spare it, I could sure use it.
Thank you.
