Supporting Destitute Aged People in Ghana
Donation protected
Hello All
My name is Ato Nimoh-Brema, and I am climbing the three highest peaks in the UK to raise funds for TABITHA Ghana.
TABITHA Ghana is an aged care charity organisation established to support needy aged people in deprived rural and urban communities. In Ghana, there is very little state support for the aged. Most of them live in extreme poverty and spend their twilight years in misery, often blighted by poor health. TABITHA Ghana supports the aged by providing basic life needs such as food, medical care, companionship, spiritual and psychological care. They also feed all their Day Care Centre attendants two cooked meals thrice every week. These are in addition to the occasional and special feeding programs like UN Day for the Aged, Annual End-of-Year Parties and Birthday Celebrations.
TABITHA Ghana also operates a residential facility where homeless aged people are cared for. They have also started to provide Home Care to immobile aged people in the comfort of their homes.
TABITHA Ghana does all these amazing activities for the aged through the help of volunteers and goodwill donations from the public. The economic hardship in Ghana makes it very difficult for most people to save for their retirement. Poor health and loneliness can also lead to social issues for the aged. Old age should be a blessing and not a curse. We can learn a lot from the aged if we look after them well and harness their vast life experiences.
Please help TABITHA Ghana achieve its vision of creating a healthy, happy-aged community with dignity and relevance in society. I hope this charity will be a trailblazer in creating awareness and support for the aged and elderly in Ghana and most African nations.
Many Thanks
