Support Nepalese Guides & Porters Through COVID-19

The Nepal 2020 trekking seasons remained inoperable due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. The outbreak has affected all of us in one way or another but tourism workers have been hit harder than most, leaving them jobless for nearly a year now.
With almost zero tourists visiting Nepal, the direct and foremost impact can be realized on the life of trekking guides and the porters who are enormously dependent on trekking and the income it generates.
It’s heart-rending to know how little or no Government support has been provided for them. It can be many months before the guides and porter receive an income again and can feed their family and take care of their children’s education.
We are also not sure if 2021 will see tourists visiting the Himalayan destination but we remain optimistic and in the meantime and try to provide helping hands to our guides, porters, and local staff.
At Glorious Himalaya, we have taken this initiative to aid those field staff (guide, porters, driver, and cook) and decided to set up a fund for them, and send them financial support immediately, and we are asking for your contribution.
I know times are tough and every single one of us has been affected. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated however small or big, or even spreading the message.
The guides and porters have kept countless teams of tourists and volunteers safe and fed, guiding every leg of the journey and helped fill up their Travel diaries with unforgettable experiences. They encouraged us when we were defeated, laughed with us when we were elated. They were there, walking side by side with the back of the group, guiding the way like a beacon in the night.
We cried with them, shared stories with them, shared meals with them, and met their families. Now, these magnificent guides and porters need our help.
