SUPPORT Refugee Family from Chad

Hello friends,

 

My (our) friends, Jenni and Todd Owen, are working with CWS for a second time after making their rental house available to a refugee family from Afghanistan these past six months. As a result, we have connected to a new family, and they will arrive by the end of the month! The family is from Chad; they are five strong: father, mother, son and two daughters.

 

I'd like us to support this effort by offsetting the rental cost for at least six months (or extending the lease if needed) and building some savings to cushion the family when transitioning into a more permanent situation. The rent is $2050 (lower than they usually rent it for and much lower than the market would bear). In addition, it is on a bus line (older son and parents will be employed), near the park, walking distance to downtown and, in general, is a comfortable and grounding home for a family new to the country and new to this area.

All funds will go through Church World Service, which will handle getting funds to the family. These will be charitable donations and, therefore, tax-deductible.
