Support Newell High School After Hurricane Beryl
Donation protected
We, Abigail and Cormac Corrigan, are 12th and 9th graders who live in Kingston, Jamaica. Like many others, we are saddened by the devastating impact Hurricane Beryl had on Jamaica, our children, and our schools.
We felt that we needed to help in some way, especially kids our age. To raise funds, we have set ourselves the challenge of running the Berlin Marathon 5k on Saturday, September 28th. We have partnered with the BREDS Foundation to assist us. Through this partnership, we have selected Newell High School, St. Elizabeth, which was affected by Hurricane Beryl, as the recipient of the funds. Your donations will be used for school supplies as the new school year starts.
On July 3rd, 2024, Hurricane Beryl hit Treasure Beach, a tight-knit community in southern St. Elizabeth on the island of Jamaica. The hurricane left immense destruction but, thankfully, no loss of life. Twelve weeks later, the resilient people of this area are still building back. Fortunately, BREDS, the Treasure Beach Foundation, a registered charity under the laws of Jamaica, can solicit and accept donations in cash and kind and ensure equitable distribution to those in need.
We thank you for supporting us in our mission. Every dollar makes a difference!
