Hello, my name is Nick, and the lil' baby in the photo is Mark! (formerly Mercury, but only responds to Mark)

Mark is a 2 year old tortie with a big personality. On the night of the 26th of September, she had accident in the basement. She jumped on old glass furniture, shattering it in the process. I woke up to blood stains on every floor of the house. After finding her in a small pool of her own blood, I rushed to the emergency vet. She needed stitches immediately, and during surgery, the vet discovered her tendon was slashed.

As I write this, she is sleeping comfortably and on the way to recovery, but the emergency costs have piled up. Every follow-up with the vet costs a minimum of $80 to replace her bandages and receive medication.

At the end of August, I myself had an emergency room visit for heart and chest issues. With no insurance, I left with a hefty bill of $900. Mark's bills have run $1050, and I just paid my rent of $850.

Due to these back to back emergencies, I did not have enough time to financially recover. I work a consistent and stable job as Local Cafe Manager and Barista, but the pay is not enough to sustain multiple crises on top of today's economy.

I am asking for your help to ensure my cat gets the best treatment. I am asking for $3000 to cover all current and future expenses. The amount I am asking would cover:

$1,050: vet costs so far

$80: the deposit for Mark's next appointment

$80: a deposit for a follow-up appointment (hopefully her last)

$900: the cost of my own emergency visit

$850: assistance with next month's rent to assure Mark and I can focus on catching up financially and recovering.

ANY EXTRA FUNDS WILL BE USED TO SECURE RIDES TO THE VET THRU FRIENDS OR LYFT, AS I DO NOT HAVE A CAR AT THIS TIME. ANY EXTRA FUNDS WILL ALSO GO TOWARDS MEDICATION, CAT FOOD, AND ESSENTIALS.
