Support Nick Ortiz's Family

There are times in life when you wonder why bad things happen to good people. This is one of those times for me. My co-worker, Nick Ortiz, lost his life in a tragic accident August 7th. He was only 31. As a Service Advisor, he had worked with me at Action Auto Repair in Phoenix, AZ for almost 3 years, He had a great smile and always did whatever he could to make sure our customers were happy and safe. He had a great sense of humor and was so fun to work with. Nick was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

He moved to Phoenix from Chicago right before starting work at Action Auto Repair, and since I am originally from that general area, we had a lot in common. “Where can you get a good Italian Beef? What about pizza?’ It’s funny how foods you grew up with in one area of the country are not as easy to get or as good in another area. Since I’m quite a bit older than he, it always amazed me how he knew about things that were from my childhood – cartoon characters, songs, TV shows, etc. I would always ask him, “How do you know that?” He would answer, “I don’t know, I just do”.

Tragically, Nick leaves behind a wife, Elizabeth, and 2 young girls, Jaslene, 8 and Penelope, 4. He loved them so much. They are so devastated and now must go on living without him. I have set up this fundraiser to help them rebuild their lives. I can’t bring their husband/father back to them, but I can try to help make things a little easier. Elizabeth was a stay at home mom. Now she will have to support her family by herself. I want them to have a safe and secure place to live. I want the girls to be able to get a great education. I want to do this for Nick.

All of us at Action Auto Repair will miss Nick greatly. He will never be forgotten. He touched all our lives.
