Support Nick, Kavita and the Celo Inn after Hurricane Helene

Hi my name is Emily and Im raising funds for my brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Kavita who are the inn-keepers to the Celo Inn in Burnsville, North Carolina.

The Celo Inn is a beautiful inn situated in the town of Burnsville, just outside of Asheville, in the mountains of North Carolina. This inn is a cornerstone of the surrounding community and has served as a calming respite for visitors and travelers for over 40 years. As you may know, recently Hurricane Helene has ravaged this area, essentially cutting it off from surrounding towns and causing an estimated one billion dollars of damage to Asheville and the surrounding towns. The Celo Inn was unable to escape this fate, as well. In addition to the main building, the Inn featured an unattached cottage for additional privacy and extra amenities. This cottage was swept away during the flooding. The main building endured a surge of multiple feet of water, which completely enveloped the entire first floor of the building and has made it currently uninhabitable.

If it wasn't devastating enough, the Inn also served as home for its innkeepers, Nick & Kavita and their family. The flood destroyed much of their living space, including their kitchen, living room, pantry, laundry room and workshop. They lost the majority of their belongings from childhood books and toys to food that had been harvested for the winter to furniture and appliances and more.

It is unlikely that the Celo Inn can be rebuilt in its current location. But along with the Celo community, Nick and Kavita are beginning to make dreams for the future. It will be a long process, and we don't know where it will lead them. It could be a new inn, or a new venture that will capture the spirit of what made Celo Inn such a special place to experience.

They are asking for assistance to restore their lives and hopefully rebuild the future they were building for themselves before the flood took it away. Any donation at this time big or small would be extremely helpful in assisting Nick & Kavita begin to piece their life and livelihood back together. The funds will be used for relocating and replacing their belongings.
