Support Nick's Healing Journey
Donation protected
In December of 2020, my brother Nick had a mental health emergency. During a period of crisis, he experienced a spinal cord injury and also lost all of his belongings.
I am so grateful to report that after surgery, rehab, and a lot of hard work, Nick is regaining his ability to walk. He has returned home but is continuing physical therapy focused on strengthening muscles and regaining balance. He has been in a great deal of pain due to nerve pain in his legs, which has prevented him from being able to work. He was also denied disability payments after many months of waiting to hear back.
Donations made will allow Nick to purchase groceries, pay bills, buy clothes (all of which were lost during his crisis), purchase medical supplies that are not covered by insurance, and to survive during this period of time before his disability payments kick-in.
We are seeking community support from anyone who knows and loves Nick and from anyone who supports mental health, racial, and economic justice. Please give what you can and help us to *SHARE* this page widely.
This has been such a difficult year for so many of us. We are so grateful for your love and generosity.
***This fundraiser was organized by Nick's sister Keri who lives in Massachusetts. Funds will be directed to Debbie Anderson who is one of Nick's moms and a local support person for Nick in Illinois. She will ensure that Nick receives all funds in order to meet his needs during this difficult time.***
