Help support Nikki's fight with Lupus and kidney failure

Dear Family, Friends, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,

I am reaching out to you during one of the most difficult times in our lives. My daughter, Nicole, has been in the hospital since December 15, 2024, fighting for her life due to kidney failure. She is facing overwhelming obstacles, and we desperately need your help.

Nicole is a single mother and the sole provider for her two sons. She is kind, loving, and selfless—always giving everything to those around her. She never asks for help, but now, I am asking on her behalf. After being furloughed from her job, life changes, moving out of state, she lost her insurance and steady income, which triggered a severe Lupus flare-up. Now, she’s fighting a battle she cannot win alone.

Nicole’s kidneys have failed, and she is now on dialysis three times a week while also undergoing bi-weekly chemotherapy. A necessary kidney biopsy led to severe complications, causing her to hemorrhage twice. Due to the seriousness of her condition, she had to be transported from Pensacola, FL, to New Orleans, LA—the closest hospital with a Lupus specialist that could take her on short notice. At this time, we don’t know when a kidney transplant will even be an option, as her treatments must stabilize first. All we can do is take it one day at a time.

While Nicole is in the hospital, my other daughter has stepped in to care for her two young sons, doing everything she can to keep life as normal as possible for them. But this situation has placed a huge emotional and financial strain on our family, and we need your support now more than ever.
