Support Nili Fielea's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Dear Friends/ family and community,

Thank you for taking the time to read along to grasp an understanding of what our brother Nili is going through, it means a lot to us that there are many of you that are willing to support Nili in this difficult time.

Recently Nili made the move from WA to VIC to pursue his career in the police force in VIC, unfortunately this dream is currently on a "pause" due to Nili’s rapid decline in health.

Approx end of Jan Nili became very ill with what was thought to be a chest infection as diagnosed by the local GP where Local GP prescribed Nili with antibiotics, after 4 days his health was only getting worse, which is where it was agreed for Nili to be taken to the local hospital. It did not take long for him to be seen by doctors due to his dire looks and tests were immediately run on him such as blood samples, a CT scan of his stomach and an x-ray of his lungs. The scans immediately alerted doctors as there were concerns on his right lung. After being officially diagnosed with Pneumonia, doctors were still concerned about his right lung and immediately put him into isolation for suspicions of Tuberculosis. After further blood samples were taken, doctors eventually realized that he did not have Tuberculosis, the situation was out of their depth and it was requested that Nili needed to be transferred to Melbourne CBD hospital where Nili would get the best care.

After spending time In the respiratory ward Nili had more blood samples, CT scans, x rays and eventually went into theatre for a bronchoscopy which would allow doctors to carefully examine the inside of his lung and to extract infected fluids trapped and blocking the lung making it nonfunctional. After some time, doctors called an urgent meeting with Nili and gave him news that would change his life. The Doctors explained that the Lung cancer that they were diagnosing Nili with is typically diagnosed to people aged between 65 and over. It was explained that Nili has small cell cancer, which is super rare, and very aggressive type of cancer. Since being diagnosed Nili has started his treatment with chemo which has also led to further complications and other health challenges.

This has been the biggest shock to our family and for Nili, but we are remaining hopeful and optimistic that Nili will fight this illness.
Despite the daunting diagnosis, Nili's spirit remains high which is what we all know Nili for. This is going to be hard work, but if anyone can do it, it is Nili, the guy who is all about health and fitness especially Nili’s passion for Rugby and life adventures, Now, as he battles cancer, his determination is his greatest asset.

The objective of this fundraiser is to rally around Nili during this critical time, ensuring he can focus on his treatment and recovery without the added burden of financial stress. With your support, we aim to cover Nili’s living expenses while he undergoes intensive treatment.

Unfortunately, Nili is currently unable to work and is unlikely to return this year due to his treatment plan. The uncertainty surrounding his recovery means this challenging journey may extend into next year, adding financial strain to an already difficult situation. He is also finding it very difficult to access government assistance being a Kiwi citizen.

Your generosity and support will make an immense difference in Nili’s life as he fights this battle with courage and determination.

Every contribution, whether big or small, brings us one step closer to ensuring Nili receives the care and support he needs to overcome this obstacle.

Thank you for your kindness, and generosity.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Sid and Wendy (Brother and sister-in-law)
& Fielea Family
