Support Nisreen and Her Family's Journey to Safety

Donation protected
I am working with my friend, Ghada, to support her sister and sister’s family living in Rafah. I have known Ghada personally for the past seven years as we worked together on a refugee education services project for the Qatar Foundation. Any extra funds raised outside of our goal will support Ghada and her elderly parents as they remain in Gaza. Ghada is working in humanitarian aid organizations in Palestine and got her Master's degree in the US. We are asking for your generosity and support during this time.

Thank you so much,
christina

The following message is from Ghada:
I am reaching out to seek your support in raising funds for my sister, Nisreen, and her family, who are enduring unimaginable hardships in Gaza. For the past fourteen months, they have been living under constant Israeli bombardment and blockade, and like many Palestinians, they lack the means to leave safely.

My sister is a devoted English teacher and the heart of our family. Recently, she has been hosting displaced individuals in her home, demonstrating her incredible generosity. However, with the recent opportunity to flee to Egypt opening up, she faces overwhelming financial demands to escape the war.

Her husband, a dedicated doctor, has been tirelessly working at the hospital despite his declining health, and he has not been able to receive his full salary.

In May 2024, Nisreen and her family evacuated to the Mawasi Area, where they have faced dire shortages of food, water, and sanitation. Unfortunately, poor living conditions have led to health issues, with several family members contracting hepatitis A. Now, they share a single tent with two other families.

During their displacement, they have had to walk miles to the sea to fetch water for daily needs, and have sought out nearby hospitals or shops with solar panels to charge their phones.

As a teacher, Nisreen feels devastated that her three children cannot complete a full academic year. She has made efforts to teach them in the tent where they currently live.

Her eldest son, Mahmoud, (14) is an exceptional swimmer and diver, and he has even started teaching his friends how to swim. He excels academically and has a passion for fixing things around the house.

Her daughter, Rafeef, is a caring and neat child who enjoys gardening and helping others.

Her youngest son, Yazan, is a spirited and clever little boy, full of energy and curiosity.

The funds we aim to raise will be used for their basic needs during this crisis, including food, water, rent, medicine, clothing, transportation, and homeschooling.

Any support you can provide would mean the world to us and would help ensure their survival during these challenging times. Thank you for considering this urgent appeal.

Use of Funds
We aim to raise $42,000 to cover essential costs for the family’s survival as they continue to live under dire conditions due to blockades and continuing occupation. Both Nisreen's family and Ghada's parents homes have been destroyed and every dollar will assist in helping to rebuild their lives in Palestine.

Every dollar brings Nisreen and her family one step closer to finding safety, security, and the restoration of dignity that has been cruelly stripped away by circumstances beyond their control.

Funds donated will be transferred from the US to Nisreen's family.

Thank you for your support.
