Support Noel's Gender-Affirming Surgery

Hello everyone! I've scheduled my top surgery (gender-affirming double mastectomy) for April 28th, 2025. (edit: I originally had a surgery date of May 25, but it has been moved to be earlier.) This procedure is medically necessary for me—I have been living publicly as a man 100% of the time since 2020, and have identified as a transgender male since the age of 13. This operation is something I have diligently researched and longed for since 2014, and I have had various consultations and appointments with different surgeons since 2021.

For the past 3 years, I have not bound my chest since I am asthmatic and it causes severe discomfort. I have had strangers heckle me for my chest appearance in certain outfits, and this procedure would ensure I am comfortable navigating the world and in my own skin.

This timing is not financially convenient for me, as I was laid off in April 2024 and am still searching for full-time work. However, I feel it is urgent both for my personal health and for the political moment we're in. The current administration has made it clear since day one that they have no interest in protecting the rights of trans people, and have reversed many executive orders and legislation already that have safeguarded the queer community. Though this timing isn't super convenient for me, I also fear this procedure will become less and less accessible the longer I wait. Not having this procedure is simply not an option for me.

The $5,000 I am raising will go toward living and medical expenses I'll accrue while having to take time off of work to heal. I don't currently receive PTO, so this money will be necessary for me to pay my bills and fill my stomach. Every single penny means the world to me, and I thank you all for your contributions.
