Support Nova's Fight for Health and Recovery

Hi guys! My name is Beeps, and I'm trying to raise funds for my friend Nova. I met Nova in my time on VRChat, and I'm grateful to have the experience of being her friend. We've bonded over the experience of both of us being chronically ill, and I've been lucky to have someone who understands me like she does. She's been near and dear to my heart and a good friend to me for the last several months I've known her.

She has been dealing with a laundry list of severe health issues for a long time. Recently, she had some procedures done that were going to improve her quality of life, including a cardiac port placement and a jejunum feeding tube placement. Some complications happened during her tube installation, and she's been hospital-bound in the ICU for the last several days. She is having issues breathing on her own and the tube isn't properly working the way it should be, so she's been in the ICU, oxygen-dependant, for the last several days while she recovers from surgery. She needs IV nutrition now because she's not able to get adequate feeding due to her stomach now being paralyzed as a result of the surgery. She's alone without anyone visiting her because she's gone no-contact with her direct family, and my friends and I have been pioneering for her to feel well in any way we can by trying to keep contact with her.

She's got insurance through her disability, thankfully, but it doesn't pay for everything. She needs a specific type of tube feed because of her paralyzed stomach and it's extremely expensive, as well as assistance covering other uncovered medical expenses and her cost of living while she is in the hospital. Bills still need to be paid, even if you're in a care facility, after all.

I'm all too aware my friend is dying. She is a bright and kind person who doesn't deserve the undue suffering she's been made to go through with her illnesses. She's an amazing friend to many, and I don't feel right sitting here and not helping her as much as I can. She deserves to feel well, and while it may not be possible immediately, taking some of her stressors off her plate, I hope, can help her focus on healing and recovery so she can stick around with us as long as possible.
