Support Nurse Mohammed and His Family in Gaza

Donation protected
A message from the organizer: My name is Mallory and I live in Ohio, USA. Mohammed Hassan and his family are close friends of mine from Gaza. You can be confident that your donations will directly aid him and his family. Funds will be sent to Mohammed's family by me via money transfer (Western Union) and will be used for basic necessities (food, clean water, shelter, medicine, clothing). They will also be saving some of the money to put towards evacuation when the border crossing is open again.

Thank you so much for your support of this wonderful family!

I am Mohammed, a nurse from Gaza, and I am 24 years old. I chose the profession of nursing because I have a strong ambition to serve people. Being able to help people at a time when they need it most is so important to me. As you can imagine, it's far from an easy job, but I'm passionate about advocating for others.

We are a well-educated family of eight brothers and only one sister. My father is a civil engineer and my mother is a physiotherapy specialist. My parents dedicated their lives to give us all the keys to success and always guided us to prosperity. I am a nurse, one of my brothers is an engineer, one is a lawyer, one is a doctor, two are studying dentistry, my sister is studying English Literature, and my youngest brothers are still school-age, but they also have big dreams and ambitions.

As a Gazan, I have been suffering through 11 months of this war. My family’s and my suffering started so early. We were forced to leave our home and the district we spent our whole life in on 8 October, 2023. We had a beautiful life, full of love, laughter, quality time spent with loved ones. We loved the area where we grew up, where we played, fell in love, grew our families, bonded with our neighbors. There isn't a day that goes by where we don't think about our lives before the war began.

  • The following picture shows the beauty and peace of our lives before the war.

  • The next pictures show the heavy bombardment in our neighborhood on the first day of the war.

  • These pictures illustrate the brutal destruction of our house.

  • These pictures show the difference between our astonishing, beautiful district before and just after few months of the war.

We spent our first week seeking safety in the north of Gaza. We were displaced to five different places, just in the span of one week. On 14/10/2023 we fled to the south of Gaza due to the massive and cruel bombardment we encountered in the north. We stayed in Khan Younis in a temporary shelter for two days, because we had evacuated quickly with no place to go.

We were then displaced to Rafah, where we have been for nearly 8 months. During our displacement in Rafah camp, I decided to take part in a volunteer medical tent to provide aid for children. The children of Gaza suffer so greatly from the ravages of this war. I saw their suffering and knew that I was being called to help.

  • These pictures show the free medical tent that I took part in and some of the cases of providing aid. We cared for people with many different kinds of cases.

  • The pictures show the other aspects of our life. I had to struggle to provide necessities for my family in non-traditional ways.

  • Having some laughter and joyful moments with my beloved and precious niece, Hala, despite all of the suffering we have experienced.

Since the invasion of Rafah, our suffering has doubled. To illustrate this for you, we narrowly survived many airstrikes. Once, one of the airstrikes was just 100 meters from us. We have been displaced once more, seeking safety, which is nowhere to be found anywhere in Gaza at this point.

  • This picture exhibits the very close air strike just too close to my family and me in Rafah.

And now we are living in a tent with very harsh living conditions. Right now, in the height of summer, it gets so hot inside our tent and there's no way to escape the heat. We are deprived of the most basic, but also the most important, human necessities: food, water, hygiene products, quality shelter, and so much more. Every day, we face new cruelties. Recently, my younger brothers both contracted and battled hepatitis, which is spreading all throughout Gaza. They have since improved, but there are new threats to our health every day, like horrible skin diseases. And now we have to worry about the spread of polio as well.

  • The following pictures shed light on the extreme suffering we experience here in the tent.

  • The picture below shows the suffering of my younger brothers, Abdullah and Ahmed, when they were infected with hepatitis.

One month ago, I decided to start a small business in the displacement camp to serve my family and help us meet our needs.

With a heart full of hope and determination, I reach out to share our journey and seek your support in rebuilding our lives. We are committed to forging a new path and ensuring a safe and bright future for our family. Your generosity can be a beacon of hope, helping us rise from the depths of despair and embrace a new dawn.

Please consider contributing to our campaign. Your kindness and compassion are beyond words. Thank you for being a vital part of our journey toward recovery and renewal.
