Support NYPD Sergeant Kinchang Ong on his Road to Recovery

On August 3, 2024, Kinchang Ong, a 19-year veteran of the NYPD, suffered a heart attack on the street after finishing an 8-mile run in his Bensonhurst neighborhood. Thankfully, good Samaritans called 911 and administered CPR until the ambulance arrived. Despite the incredible efforts of the cardiac care unit at Coney Island Hospital, Kin remains sedated on a ventilator.

Only 41 years old, Kin is a dedicated Sergeant that is highly respected by his colleagues in the NYPD. Most importantly, he is a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Min, and a doting father to his three young children, Michael, 11, Allison, 9, and Elliot, 3.

Kin’s recovery will be long-term, and his prognosis is uncertain. We started this fundraiser to assist his family with the financial uncertainties that come with the long-term medical care that Kin requires.
