Support Nzingha After Chris' Passing

Hi everyone! This is Nzingha, the daughter of Chris Pollok, who many of you know from Lava Gina and Bier International. As some of you may have heard, my dad passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, June 24th.

My older brother Dane has come to NYC to be with me so we can go through the process of dealing with his death together. Although it’s been hard, we’ve both been getting so much support from everyone throughout the community and we are both immensely grateful for everyone’s kind words.

Since some people have already expressed their willingness to lend some financial support, we figured that we would start a GoFundMe to allow anyone who can and wants to donate. The money we get from this GoFundMe will not only go towards expenses regarding my dad (i.e. cremation, urns, memorial service) but also living expenses and future education now that I am no longer being supported by my father.

I just wanted to thank everyone again for their generous efforts. It’s important to avoid feeling lost or alone during a transition like this one, and I can confidently say that I have not once felt lost nor alone! After Bier International closed I started to realize how many people truly appreciate my father and it’s comforting to know that he was so loved by so many.

For anyone who would like to pay their respects, a memorial service is currently in the works, so stay tuned on Facebook for more details regarding when and where it will be.
