Support Oakland's Journey to Recovery

On June 3rd 2024 I was given 2 blessings from god , Oakland and Orianna Johnson. They were born premature and Oakland had to stay in the NICU for a little over a month. He has hearing loss in both ears, could be compared to wearing ear plugs so not fully deaf. We have been going to specialist out of town to work on getting hearing aids. Also he has a couple medical conditions but nothing really major. I had both of them Thursday September the 19th and during the night Oakland was throwing up more than he should be. He couldn’t keep a bottle down at all by the morning. Friday, September 20th, my son Oakland stopped breathing on me. I immediately took him to the ER in Alexandria. Within 5-10 minutes, he started episodes of not breathing. He was put on two breathing machines for when he had the episodes and was flown by helicopter to Lafayette.

Since getting here, they have run several tests and they found out he has COVID.  I am praying that he just has COVID bad and will get over it soon and we can be out of hereHe will act like he is going to sleep then stop breathing, but the breathing machines won’t let him. They want to monitor him and see if they can find the problem and get it under control.

I plan on making trips back and forth for work until he leaves. We have been staying up here at the hospital with him, but trying to get a hotel close by. Anything will help; a prayer for him is worth more than money can buy. So if you could at least say a prayer for him and a speedy recovery. His twin sister, Orianna Johnson, is not sick and is very healthy. Will keep everyone updated on how he is doing and what the doctors say. God bless.
