Support Octavio's Healing Journey

Hello,

My name is Roxana and I am sharing because I want to be able to help the healing process of my better half. Since the age of 13, Octavio was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He has gone through many procedures since he was young. He is now 40 years old and has been on dialysis since 2015. Dialysis treatment was taking so much of his time the last 9 years. He recently started the application about a year ago to see if he qualified for a kidney and pancreas transplant. He went through evaluations, constant blood work, and many procedures to let us know if he qualified to be a candidate. The process was recently completed about a month ago or so, and they informed us that he could possibly receive one before the year ends. On Friday, we received the call that we had a possible organ donor. We went about 2:00 pm to get his blood work to see if the donor and Octavio were a match. We met with the doctor, and he informed us he would be on standby this weekend. A few hours later, about 8:30 pm, he received the call that they were a match and to report the following day for potentially having surgery. We got to the hospital, and they informed us the organs were healthy and they proceeded with the pre-operative tests to clear him to receive the kidney and pancreas. Surgery lasted about 7 hours or so, and the doctor said the organs might take a little while to start working. So far, the organs have been definitely doing the job. Octavio will be placed on medication that is now going to lower his immunity for the rest of his life. I am wanting to share because I would love for him to receive some help while he heals. Octavio is one of the best persons I have and has always been such a giving person. If you all could please share or donate whatever you can while he starts the recovery process.
