Support Officers in Memory of Russell Vinton

Hello Family and Friends:

I have been absent from SM, calls, and texts for the past 2 weeks. My family has been navigating the worst and most heinous situation imaginable.

On October 5th 2024, the only dad I ever knew (Russell Thomas Vinton), was randomly and brutally murdered by a career criminal/convicted pedophile while remote camping/motorcycle riding on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. He was shot, killed, and transported by said criminal over 300 miles away, where his body was savagely dumped off the side of a freeway exit outside of Las Vegas. On Wednesday, October 9th, the Lake Havasu police department encountered the suspect by the airport. The suspect immediately began firing at officers and rammed their police cruiser with Russell’s stolen truck. The heroic officers immediately returned fire, killing this evil human. The only satisfaction the family has thus far, is that the suspect will never harm another child or good human being ever again. Russell’s death prevented this and the suspect from carrying out a “hit list.”

The officers sustained minor injuries from the impact to their cruiser. They are currently on leave while the investigation continues.

The family has been deeply affected and is reeling from this tragedy. In honor of Russell, we will be raising funds to give to a relief fund for the officers involved in the killing of said very evil human. I will include links and provide updates as the family can.
