Support Oly & his family with his recovery

Oly Yorke is a vibrant, active, 13 year old, who lives in Birmingham with his father Warren, his mother Clair and his 16 year old sister Daisy. Oly loves his football and plays for Cadbury Athletic FC’s under 13’s side.
However, the family’s world changed on 13th February when Oly’s suffered a fall at a local skate park, a place he has visited regularly over the last 9 years.
Oly was knocked unconscious by the fall and was immediately rushed to hospital. Oly was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit and remained unconscious for 3 days before waking.
Oly currently remains in hospital, in the High Dependancy Unit, and the traumatic brain injury he has suffered means he currently has almost no use of his left side, is struggling with his speech and is suffering from various other neurological complications.
The road ahead is unknown and will involve an extended period in hospital and a further period of time with a specialist team of doctors and physiotherapists.
The doctors have recently suggested that it may be beneficial for Oly’s recovery if he is transferred to a hospital in Surrey. While this hospital would be able to offer the specialist 24 hour care which Oly currently needs, this would mean being over 2 hours away from his home, his friends and his family.
To further exacerbate an already horrific situation for Oly and his family, Clair & Warren run their own business where they are the only employees. Therefore, the operation of their business has been and will be drastically affected by Oly’s accident and his road to recovery, even more so if Oly undertakes his recovery in Surrey. This will create additional undue financial stress on the family.
We are trying to take away any additional load or stress on Oly’s family by creating a page to raise some funds to help towards Oly’s rehabilitation, vital treatment, recovery and supporting his family.
