Help FGC Member RezenL Fight for a New Liver
Donation protected
My name is Orlando Jeter, and as I approach my 30th birthday, just two weeks after Christmas, I’m nearing the end of the hardest fight of my life. I’ve been battling Autoimmune Hepatitis, Primary Sclerosing Choleangitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Liver Cirrhosis since 2017 with a current MELD score of 24 of 40 that is rapidly increasing— affecting me severely. As of 2024, I’ve spent the majority of it fighting from the inside of a hospital, and a currently pending divorce.
I’ve also been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and Hepatic Encephalopathy within the same year. A month or so ago, I spent seven days brain dead in the ICU on a ventilator and then weeks recovering in the hospital from late October to mid-November. I’m still in recovery as I no longer have much of the ability to walk, eat, and talk like I used to. I currently weigh 95 pounds and can’t afford the expenses I’d need to reach a healthier weight of 120 pounds to make this surgery possible, as I could die, otherwise.
If I can afford the necessary insurance and guarantee a spot on the waiting list, I could receive my transplant as soon as February. But the expenses are overwhelming, and with everything going towards my survival, I can’t afford gifts for the holidays or secure my future in receiving a transplant that may save my life.
Music and fighting games have always been my passion and escape, but right now, I’m fighting just to have the life I never had in my 20s due to my illness.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to getting a transplant and allow me to celebrate my 30th birthday with hope instead of fear.. Even sharing this means the world to me. Thank you for being part of my journey.
