Introduction:
Orleans County is more than just a collection of towns—it's a close-knit community with deep roots, unique traditions, and a spirit that brings us all together. Our community radio station was born from a profound love for this county and a commitment to give its people a voice. We are here to connect, inform, and entertain our community by delivering local news, diverse music, and stories that reflect who we are. Today, we need your help to keep this essential community service alive and thriving. Your support will help us reach more listeners, enhance our programming, and keep Orleans County connected like never before!

Who We Are:
Our community radio station is a nonprofit Low Power FM (LPFM) station located in the heart of Orleans County, NY. We are dedicated to serving every resident of our region with content that truly matters—stories, news, and music that resonate deeply with our listeners. Unlike commercial stations that often overlook smaller communities, we prioritize local voices, local artists, and local issues. Our station serves as a vital hub for information, entertainment, and connection, reflecting the heart and soul of Orleans County.

Our Mission and Impact:
Since launching, our mission has been clear: to offer programming that informs, educates, entertains, and brings people together. Our airwaves are filled with a rich mix of local news, public affairs, educational content, and diverse music—from classic hits and local artists to deep tracks you won’t find on commercial radio. Our programming is carefully curated to reflect and celebrate the unique character of Orleans County and to foster a sense of community pride and engagement.

Here’s a glimpse of what we bring to the community:
• Local News and Events: We keep the community informed with timely updates on local news, weather, school events, and important issues that affect everyday lives. From breaking news to community happenings, we’re the first to share what matters most to our residents.

• Educational Content: We engage listeners with compelling interviews featuring community leaders, local historians, and educators. We also partner with local schools to broadcast student-created programs, giving young voices a platform to be heard.

• Public Affairs Programming: From covering town hall meetings to discussing environmental issues, healthcare, and local government policies, we provide a space for meaningful discussions that promote civic engagement and transparency.

• Music Programming: We feature local bands, singer-songwriters, and culturally significant genres that celebrate our area’s diverse musical heritage. Whether it's classic rock, jazz, country, or alternative, we dive deep into the tracks that have shaped generations. Our station isn’t just about broadcasting; it's about building a stronger, more connected Orleans County. We’re here to amplify the voices of our neighbors, provide a stage for local talent, and serve as a trusted companion for everyone in our community.

Why We Need Your Support:
As a small, nonprofit community radio station, we operate on a shoestring budget and rely heavily on the generosity and support of our listeners. Right now, we face a critical need: $15,000 to purchase essential equipment that will allow us to continue broadcasting and expand our reach to even more listeners across Orleans County. This funding will cover the cost of:

• 100-Watt Transmitter and Antenna: To ensure clear and strong broadcasting that reaches all corners of Orleans County, enhancing the quality and reliability of our signal.
• Mixing Consoles and Microphones: To upgrade our studio with high-quality audio production tools for live shows, interviews, music programs, and more, ensuring our broadcasts are crisp and professional.
• Emergency Alert System (EAS) Compliance: So that we can serve as a crucial information source during local emergencies, keeping our community safe and informed.
• Studio Equipment Upgrades: To maintain and enhance our ability to produce diverse and compelling content that keeps listeners tuned in and engaged.

Without these upgrades, our ability to provide high-quality, reliable service to our community is at risk. We need your help to keep the station operating at its best and to continue growing our listener base.

Expanding Our Reach:
Our station broadcasts from the LakeCountry Pennysaver building in Albion, NY, a location geographically central to Orleans County. While this is ideal for reaching some areas, not every resident can access our over-the-air signal. Our goal is to install a repeater to extend our coverage throughout the county so that every resident has the opportunity to tune in. In the meantime, we’re also expanding our online presence, providing listeners with more ways to connect with us:
• Website Streaming: Tune in from any desktop or mobile browser.
• Mobile Apps: Custom apps for iPhone and Android users to listen on the go.
• Smart Speakers: Seamless integration with smart home devices like Alexa, making it easier than ever to listen in.

This multi-platform approach ensures that everyone in Orleans County—and even beyond—can access our programming, stay connected, and feel like a part of the community conversation. In a time when many are turning to online streaming, this strategy is crucial to reaching the widest audience possible.

The Importance of Local Radio:
In an age where media is dominated by large corporations, local radio stations like ours are rare but essential. We are more than just a station—we are a trusted friend and a community hub. We provide a platform for local voices, issues, and music that would otherwise be lost in the noise of commercial broadcasting. According to the Nielsen Audio Report, 70% of radio listeners now access content through online streaming platforms, which makes our efforts to offer robust online streaming options even more critical. By supporting us, you’re helping to keep independent, local media alive and thriving.

How You Can Help:
We know that times are tough, and every dollar counts. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will have a direct impact on our ability to continue serving Orleans County with the unique, community-focused programming that we all cherish. Here’s how you
can make a difference:

• Donate: Your financial support is vital. Every dollar brings us closer to our $15,000
goal. Remember, no amount is too small—every contribution helps.
• Spread the Word: Share our GoFundMe page on social media, with friends, family, and anyone who believes in the power of local, community-driven media.
• Sponsor or Partner: If you’re a local business owner or community leader, consider partnering with us. We offer various sponsorship packages that provide excellent visibility and the opportunity to support local media and community engagement.
• Volunteer or Get Involved: We’re always looking for passionate community members to help us grow. Whether it's volunteering your time, expertise, or services, there are many ways to get involved.

Our radio station is more than just a source of news and music; it's a lifeline that connects every corner of Orleans County. We believe that local radio is more important now than ever—it’s a space where real community happens. By supporting our campaign, you are
ensuring that this lifeline remains strong, vibrant, and inclusive. Let’s come together as a community to keep Orleans County’s voice alive.
