Support our Angel: Angel Diaz victim of hit & run Naples, FL

On the night of August 21st, 2024 our beloved friend/brother/uncle/son, Angel Diaz, was the victim of a suspected hit and run accident while leaving his home in Naples Park, FL.

We are asking for help and support from our community to lessen the financial struggle while he takes the time to recover from a traumatic brain injury, as a result of the accident.

The night of, He was found laying unresponsive in the middle of the street..

He was life-flighted to the Gulf Coast trauma center where he remains to receive emergency medical treatment.

As of Friday, August 23rd, Angel has received one surgery to gain control over the bleeding in his brain. Multiple skull fractures were discovered and he remains on a ventilator. Over the next several days medical personnel will do a series of tests to check his neurological status. His family and friends are hopeful he will wake up on his own soon. Angel will have a long road to recovery. Angels sisters, brother, and niece are all local and have been by his side.

Aside from working and spending time with his close-knit family, roommate and friends; Angel enjoys creating music, playing electric guitar, going to the beach and supporting his family in Venezuela.

Update August 24th: Angels brain is continuing to swell resulting in him falling into a coma. The doctor stated he'll be in a coma for a "very" long time and when/if he wakes up we should expect he will have a lot of imparments. Please continue to pray for our sweet Angel, we need a miracle.

Update August 26th: This morning Angel had a minor surgery to relieve pressure due to the brain swelling. His coma score is looking a little better today, he still remains in the ICU. Angels friends and family are working on getting his Mother here from Venezuela. Angel is very close to his Mom and she needs to be by his side through this recovery process.

Update August 30th: our sweet Angel lost complete neurological function a few days ago. His mother was faced with an impossible decision, but yesterday she chose to donate his organs. He will continue to help people like he has always done and part of him will continue to live on physically and spiritually.

Angel was the kind of person that when he entered your life, he changed your life. He was always so kind and gentle. He would help anyone, anytime.

Our hearts are broken having lost Angel but still, our souls can find peace in all our memories.
