Support Our Beloved Pet Prairie Dog Retreat Family

The Pet Prairie Dog Retreat is a loved and respected business in Watauga County, with many clients and friends reaching far outside county, and even state borders.

The Pet Prairie was flooded on Friday, September 27th and Lora spent her time and risked her life to transport 15+ dogs out of a quickly flooding kennel and into her own home. She kept them there with no running water, electricity, or even cell service for multiple days. They were walked individually on leashes in her own yard and continued to have their routines stay as normal as possible. Dogs were transported across the river to their owners via boat after the only way in collapsed, with Lora riding with them.

She will need all the support she can get! That is the least she deserves after all she has given to those around her and the work she put in to keep her guests safe.

Unfortunately, a lot of land and utilities were damaged during Hurricane Helene, so those of us who have come to love Lora far past any reach business relationships go want to help raise money to get The Pet Prairie up and running again. Some of the things we need funds for are new cleaning facilities, maintenance on the basement, printers, phones, fridges, and surely more when more damages are accessed.
