Support our cafe workers
Donation protected
Yorks Cafe is an independent and much loved cafe and coffee roasters born in the heart of Birmingham. We have proudly become entwined in the very fabric of the city and have thrived because of the passion, love and positive energy of our dedicated and hard working people.
The challenge
Our priority right now is to ensure that the hard working people of Yorks can sleep at night in the knowledge that they can pay their bills, irrespective of how long we have to adhere to the government advice and remain closed.
Please help our team
As many of you remember, we were swamped by tram works for 12 months at our Stephenson Street branch in Birmingham. We managed to scrape it though and survive (with no compensation or government support) and now we face this new and unprecedented challenge to surpass. We are now working on how we can innovate and help serve people remotely, whether coffee, take-out-brunches, etc (ideas please!), but to keep all our team on the same income each month will cost us around £35,000/month. We know this is going to be a long shot, but even if we can raise a small portion of this amount, we can come back fighting.
We'll take good care of you when we're back!
Whatever you donate today, we'll give you back in coffee and brunch when we're open again, but more importantly, your donation will help our team members survive the coming weeks.
100% of donations will go pay our cafe staff.
We know we’re not alone
We are now seeking to collaborate with other cafes and coffee shops who find themselves in a similar position. The support of our industry is going to rely on the collective kindness and generosity of all customers, past present and future, across the country.
If you are an independent café owner and want to join us on our collective campaign, please email [email redacted].uk
