David Beltran Barajas

David is a long-time community organizer, dedicated to many grassroots causes including the Palestinian solidarity movement in Nevada. He was also an organizer for Bernie 2020, where he single handedly knocked thousands of doors on the East side, and helped us deliver a thirty point win in 2020. He went on to work as a lead organizer for Amy Vilela, then found himself organizing for workers at the Nevada legislature.

David has courage that most do not. He would not stay silent in order to protect his career as a campaign organizer, and instead has planned mass demonstrations, direct actions, public callouts of officials, and more in defense of the Palestinian people. David has given us all courage to stand up for our convictions and move forward with pride in the face of a trillion dollar machine.

But, doing so has cost him a lot. As a loyal and dedicated activist he is now largely locked out from his former career. While working in the movement for Palestinian liberation and justice, he was working two to three jobs to survive. Even this was not enough, and he is facing the threat of losing his home if he cannot catch up.

Our community loves him not only for the work he’s done to organize outside and inside the system, but because each of us has in some way been helped by David. Whether he is standing up at the Nevada Legislature demanding that outdoor workers receive water breaks, or speaking up for immigrants like himself, or simply driving an hour out of his way because your tire blew and you’re all alone, David is always putting others first.

Please help us raise the funds to ensure that David can stay in his home, not just because of our love and commitment to our enduring and courageous friend, but so that he can continue to organize this community in seeking liberation for all!
