Support our dog walkers during Coronavirus

Donation protected

In just under four days, we have had 16 vacation care cancellations for the month of March, as well as half a dozen M-F daily walks canceled until a "to be determined" time. The pet sitting cancellations alone total over $4000. We anticipate losing a lot more business over the coming weeks as more and more schools and businesses switch to schooling and working from home, thus people are home to walk their own dogs. The University of Chicago announced today that they will be switching to an all online curriculum which their students and employees account for a large amount of our clients.

As a business that relies on providing a service in order to be paid, if we do not have pets to care for - we do not get paid. Of our 18 employees, Hyde Bark is the primary source of income for more than 3/4 of our walkers. Our goal is to be able to continue to pay our walkers at least their minimum necessary income to survive. 80% of all donations received will go directly to our employees. We know we are not the only small business suffering and we encourage you to also try and support other local businesses in any way you can! We are extremely grateful for our wonderful clients and our community.

Thank you for reading. Stay safe, everyone.
