Support our family as we flee our flooded home
Update:
Thank you to everyone who shared and donated to our GoFundMe. It has helped us to navigate our time since we had to leave our home upbruptly, only able to take what could fit and a bag and be disinfected before use. It helped to replace some essential items that we couldn’t take with us when we left the house, also things that were damaged and had to be thrown away (and there’s been a lot) It contributed to Ophelia’s ongoing medical treatment and specialist appointment (which is still happening. We have now stopped donations being able to be made as we are slowly getting to manageable place of this really difficult time. We move into a new home in two weeks with a lot less things to carry, but so grateful for the support and community that held us during a really hard time. We can’t express the gratitude we feel to receive this support, it really did make such a huge impact in so many ways, and still does, so thank you endlessly.

—————
On Thursday we were notified by the owner of our home that we have to vacate. We’ve been given 3 days notice as the wet and mouldy carpets are being pulled up on Monday morning.
We do not have the financial ability to pay for ongoing short term accommodation, and we do not know when we will be able to move back into our home.
On top of this we have lost an overwhelming amount of our belongings due to mould and flood damage.
Ophelia has mould poisoning which also needs to be treated by specialists, as a parent feeling responsible and negligent when we were unaware of what was happening in our home breaks our hearts. Especially when we were being so diligent to what was obvious to our eyes.
We’re graciously asking for help from our friends and community to help carry through these journey as we navigate expensive and unaffordable housing options, replacement of our belongings and specialist medical treatment in Brisbane for Ophelia.
Asking for help is a very difficult thing for us but we have landed in a situation that we’re unable to manage on our own.
We’re grateful to be able to share our story knowing wether you’re able to help or not, that we’re not alone in our experience and that our community is strong.
With love and light
Lotte, Lia-Belle, Ophelia, Gray and Delphi
