Support Our Father's Recovery and Home Care

As many of you may or may not know, my father recently had a stroke that has left him in need of constant care.

He is still recovering and as he progresses, he will require constant care as his body is paralyzed on one side. He is also unable to eat on his own and requires a feeding tube. Additionally he is unable to speak.

My father is currently in Kenya where medical care is expensive and is not structured as it is in the US. The doctors have recommended his discharge; however, discharge cannot happen without the full hospital bill being satisfied before patient release. This has left a stressful weight on my family and I as we have been contributing all we can to maintain his care and get him home. Additionally, he will require continued care after hospital release. This has been an unexpected emotional and financial challenge to our family.

We are asking friends and family to assist us in raising funds to have my father's treatment continued for the eventual discharge and transfer home for prolonged care. The current cost is approximately $5000 currently USD and climbs daily at a rate of approximately $150 per day as we try to get money together. This does not include additional charges for feeding, the oxygen machine, medications/antibiotics which add additionally on a daily basis. Any amount contributed can help us meet our goal.
