Folks, Friends, and Fam,
Deep breaths everyone.
Our amazing friend, JenDM was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. After taking a beat to process this news, one thing has become clear: gathering support from all those who are near and dear will be an enormous help to her recovery. Her cancer is highly treatable, thankfully, but it takes a community to carry someone through a cancer diagnosis and bring the clear and calm back to their life.
Our Jen is a fearless advocate for her community, a passionate artist and creator, and one of THE best friends a person could ever ask for. She’s performed as a singer, DJ, and producer—inspiring people to dance their asses off in sweaty night clubs and outdoor festivals from Sydney to NYC and everywhere in between. She has produced countless events to raise money for important causes in the community including the Downtown Women’s Center in LA. & Art Share LA. She has given so much. And now I come to you all to ask to give back. This effort is meant to alleviate the stress of, at least, one part of this unexpected challenge.
Jen has an upcoming surgery and will have to pause work to heal which means a significant loss of income. Medical bills, therapies, holistic treatments, supplements, and other unexpected things; it all adds up. I believe we can gather enough funds to offer Jen significant relief. Please spread the word to our community to help us reach our goal of $45k. Give what you can, a contribution of any size will be so appreciated! And if you aren’t able to donate at this time, just sharing this GoFundMe can help spread the word. For someone who has put out so much love, let’s send some back and help pull her through to the other side of this chaotic and uncertain time.
THANK YOU!
From Jen:
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January—it came as a total shock. I’m only just now able to talk about it openly with friends, family, and my community. It's been a lot to manage and process. I’m now preparing for the next steps—surgery, recovery, potential chemo and/or radiation, and a possible second surgery down the line. It’s exceedingly hard for me to ask for help—I'm painfully prideful and have thrived on being self-reliant. At this critical moment in the world when so many other families need support, I've repeatedly backed out of letting my beloved friends help me on this platform. It’s a confusing time, and what keeps me going is my community—all of you. Your support means everything to me, it fills me with love, gratitude, and hope. Just know I can't wait to play music for you, dance with you again, and gesture wildly with ease—all while cancer-free.
