Please support Atlanta-based movement artist and choreographer, Jessica Bertram as she presents her first evening length work, Our Hair Feels Like Flower Petals. This contemporary performance installation investigates the resilience and healing process of Black women during this trying climate in America.  Originally developed during the Dance Canvas 2020 Choreographic Residency at the Atlanta Contemporary Museum, Our Hair Feels Like Flower Petals researches how Black women move forward, how they rebuild the communities in which they occupy, and how they heal themselves mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

All donations are welcomed and supported! The following sponsorship levels will be honored:

$100+ patrons will gain early access to the virtual premiere in June 2021
$200+ patrons will be invited to a private in-person performance + artist talk
$300+ patrons will receive all of the above with an additional listing in the program and collateral materials

Your donation will not only support rehearsal/performance space, materials for costuming and installation, and artist pay for all collaborators involved but it will contribute to the much needed representation of Black women in the arts. Our Hair Feels Like Flower Petals is the ultimate love letter to Black women as it promotes essential healing in response to the disrespect and dismissal of Black women in American culture and media. This project is also funded by Idea Capital, an Atlanta-based, grassroots organization seeking to foster a new tone of experimentation and support in the Atlanta art community.
