Support Our Journey to Say Goodbye to Matty!

Hello all my friends and family. I am reaching out during this time of need and asking for any help you can give towards my goal. I have experienced much tragedy and very painful loss over the past couple of years. I suffered losing many of the people I love most and hold closest to me. For those who have experienced these same hardships, I want to extend my condolences and healing thoughts to you and your loved ones. It is never easy saying goodbye to those you hold dear and love the most. For this reason alone, I come to you today to ask for your help.

I also want to share a little bit about one of my favorite people in this life and closest influential friend of mine, Matthew "Matty" Marinovich. He is the rock star in the picture above with me. He is and will always be one of the most caring, loving, funny, and selfless humans I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, connecting, building, working, and sharing space and many freakin' memories, pranks, smiles, beers, and cheers with in this life. Sadly, tragically, and unexpectedly, my boy Matty chose to take his journey of infinite happiness, leaving many of those who cherished him in devastation and with an emptiness knowing his contagious good vibes and smile will now only be with us in spirit and memory.

I am asking for help and support with travel and board expenses so my wife and I can make our journey north together to send off my brother Matty. We want to hold a memorial and a private gathering and ceremony for him in the ways we know. This GoFundMe will help my wife and I travel north and return back home to the Bay. It will also go towards our food and board and any additional travel expenses while on the road. I want to be able to say goodbye to my brother Matty and have my wife with me while I am at my weakest and most vulnerable. This has been a hard loss for me and has brought up many of my own mental health traumas. Through it all, in support, has been my wife holding prayer and mourning his loss as well. I want to sing for him and be present with the people who loved Matty for who he was and is always.

It is always hard asking for help and support, but it needs to be done because mental health is real and the pain of losing those we love to suicide is also real and complicated. Matty wanted those to seek the help they need in order to heal and find happiness. I ask you now for your help because saying goodbye to my friend, my brother, and fellow comrade will bring me healing and help me honor his life and spirit in our Native way with my wife and extended PNW family.
