Las Ballenitas Bilingual School, a humble education centre nestled in the rural beauty of the Dominican Republic, where our journey began with a simple yet powerful desire – to provide the children of this community a unique and enriching educational experience.

Yamiris, the school's founder, had a vision to provide an enriched educational experience to her son, something that is not available in this small rural town.

This heartfelt aspiration led her to create a learning space within her home where she paired with other parents in the community to offer a small education centre. However, it soon became evident that this opportunity would be something that should be shared and benefited by the wider community, sparking a community-wide conversation among parents.

On January 14, 2014, we took a significant step forward by renting a small house in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by lush greenery and the wonders of nature, and slowly but surely, it has become the amazing yet humble bilingual community school it is today.

Since those humble beginnings, Las Ballenitas has blossomed into a beacon of educational excellence in our rural community. We are more than just a school; we are a thriving community of passionate educators, dedicated parents, and curious, eager learners. Our impact extends beyond the classroom, giving rise to various community initiatives that continue to enrich the fabric of our society.
