Helping Simon in this next stage of treatment

Donation protected
Dear Friends of Simon,

It has been a while since we have asked for support for Simon and his family.

Last month Simon’s MRI revealed new cancer growth in both the left and right hemispheres of his brain. He has since completed a second round of radiation and will be undergoing chemotherapy over the next six months. Already coping with the impacts of the disease and treatment so far —impaired use of his right arm and leg, speech difficulties, and fatigue -- Simon and his family are trying to prepare for this next phase of treatment.

We are writing to ask for your help to raise the remaining $60,000 from their original GoFundMe launched a year ago when Simon was first diagnosed. This will be used to help Simon and his family cover the cost of part-time in-home care, as well as fund other services, such as physical therapy, to support Simon’s well-being and help him maximize his treatment. The home care will give Vanessa more time to manage the business, and recharge so that she can continue to be there for Simon and the family. The budget is based on the following needs:

~ In-home caregiver 3x week: = $3,360 per month

~ Physical and occupational therapy: 2x per week = $2,000 per month

~ Feldenkrais, acupuncture, and massage = $1,000 per month

Total: $6,360 per month

The goal of this fundraising effort is to support them over the next 6 moths of treatment, and some months beyond, in anticipation of the side-effects and rehabilitation required after treatment.

Simon, Vanessa, and the girls have been amazing in their banding together to make necessary changes. As of last June, they moved from their beloved home in Muir Beach, into an apartment at Vanessa’s mother’s home in Mill Valley. The move is making it easier for Simon to access his appointments at UCSF and other health therapies, and to accommodate the financial challenges that come with a diagnosis like this.

The past 16 months since Simon’s diagnosis has been a testament to his character, and for those who know him, there is no surprise in how he has addressed his diagnosis – with unwavering positivity, deep gratitude for his friends, and unshakable inner-strength.

Please share and contribute as you can and know that Simon and Vanessa’s gratitude is immense.

With love and gratitude,

Simon and Vanessa

It is with a heavy heart we share the news that Simon Littler experienced unusual symptoms while in Amsterdam last week and was rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He remains in the hospital unable to travel and undergoing testing. Newly married, he was fortunate to be traveling with Vanessa and having her by his side during this time of great uncertainty.

A devoted friend, father, husband, colleague and dreamer of big dreams, Simon is known above all for his kindness and generosity. Always ready to lend a helping hand, cook a sumptuous meal, share a glass of wine, and support causes near to his heart, Simon is now in need of our support.

Initial financial support is needed to cover costs for Evie, Bea and Rachel as they travel to Amsterdam to join Simon and Vanessa and to cover expenses for as long as they remain abroad. Additional support will be required for medical costs, overhead, and care.

For one who shares and radiates so much to others, let us rally around Simon and his family at this emotionally shocking and destabilizing time, offering financial support with our healing thoughts, love and prayers.

Please consider contributing and sharing this request widely to those in his circle and yours.

Thank you for your generosity and love.
Updates will be provided as available.
